About Us
Pakistan Forum was established in 1999 to work for the welfare of the British Pakistani Community living in and around Nottingham. Its mission is to create an environment for the development of a culturally rich and respected Pakistani community playing its full part in the British society. Its broad aims are to help:
- Improve the socio-economic conditions of the British Pakistani community
- Improve the image of the Pakistani community
- Act as a bridge between the community, the public sector and the media
- Contribute to the well-being of the society as a whole
Pakistan Forum is a registered Charity (Registered Charity no. 1120793) that is governed by an Executive Committee elected by members at an AGM. The Executive Committee appoints a Management Team to run the affairs of the organisation, reporting back to the Executive Committee at regular meetings.
The organisation is based at Hyson Green Community Centre, Gregory Boulevard, Nottingham where it holds regular events aimed at creating community harmony. The organisation advocates integration and works with faith groups and other organisations to lift the veil of misconception about the British Pakistani Community which despite a contrary perception held by the wider community, is well established and plays a vital role in socio-economic affairs of the city including: politics, business, academia, journalism, arts, sports, legal profession, the Police and health service
