Come join us on Sunday 24th March 2019 in celebrating Pakistan Day! It’s a day to show solidarity and support of Pakistan in an environment of family and friends. With world-class entertainment and food stalls, what more could you ask?
Tickets are only £10 each and have been deliberately kept at a low price to allow everyone to attend and make this an event to remember. Tickets will be available at the door (if not sold out!) but will cost more. With under 2 weeks to go … Don’t miss out and book your tickets NOW as we anticipate a sell-out!!!
Pakistan Forum is proud to be hosting this event and has invited the famous Pakistani Qawal group, Najmuddin Saifuddin, to perform exclusively for us. This family of qawals can trace back their roots to the very first qawali group assembled by the legendary Amir Khusrou!!!
In the UK, it is rare nowadays to get the opportunity to witness an actual qawal group, let alone one of this calibre. Who knows when, or if, we’ll ever get another chance to see an actual qawali group performing live in Nottingham? It really is an experience that should not be missed. Please remember to tell all your families and friends about this event … they will thank you for it.
Brief information regarding this Qawali group
In the 13th Century, the legendary musician, Amir Khusrou, took it upon himself to train a group of 12 elite youngsters in the art of Qawali who were later on called as Qawwal Bachay Gharana of Delhi or Delhi Gharana. The prominent names of this Gharana, include Haji Suleman Khansahab (grandfather of this qawali group).
Ustad Qawal Bahauddin Khansahab – son of Haji Suleman Khansahab and maestro in the Khusrou tradition of Qawali has enchanted audiences all over the world with his knowledge, voice and command on different styles of Qawwal and has successfully transferred this spiritual art and style to his sons, namely Qawal Najmuddin Saifuddin & Brothers
Qawwal Najmuddin Saifuddin Brothers (QNSB) hail from Karachi and belong to the ‘Qawwal Bachay ka Gharana’ school, being the 26th generation of qawwals in their family. QNSB are well versed in Sufi poetry and have been trained in the traditional art form of qawwali by their father, the late Ustad Bahauddin Khan.
They have been recorded and interviewed by TV Channels in Pakistan & abroad, during their foreign tours, and have received various awards, medals & shields for their outstanding performances. Their Audio/Video Albums of Traditional Sufi Music/Qawali are receiving appreciation and applause from every segment of the listeners.
