Pakistan Forum Achievement Award recognises meritorious and outstanding achievement by the members of the Pakistani community. Up to five awards one in each category listed below will be granted this year at our event on 21 August 2016 to celebrate the Pakistan’s sixty ninth Independence Day. Nominations are requested in the following categories: –

  • Quaid-e-Azam Award for excellence in Profession
  • Allama Iqbal Award for excellence in Academia
  • Jahangir Khan Award for Excellence in Sports
  • Aitzaz Hasan Award for Youth
  • Abdul Sattar Edhi Award for Service to the community

 

Guidelines for Selection

Nominations must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016.

Nominations are encouraged from anyone who is a member of the community in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Please feel free to nominate your friend, neighbour, member of your community group or anyone who you feel has excelled in any of the above categories. Nominations must be submitted on behalf of individuals; nominations of groups will not be accepted. If you know other individuals are nominating your nominee, please collaborate with them. The selection committee will consider multiple nominations of individuals as a single nomination, and will not give added weight to those receiving more than one nomination.

To ensure fairness and consistency, nominations must consist of:

  • A completed nomination form.

  • Attach a description of nominee qualifications.

Please provide as much detail as possible. The nomination should include specific examples and supporting evidence that demonstrates the individual’s outstanding achievement. We recommend focusing on the exceptional qualities of the nominee, his/her contribution/achievement in the selected category with examples of how he/she typically goes above and beyond.

Published materials or exhibits cannot be used as supporting documentation.

Criteria for Selection

All awards are selected from the categories listed above; Nominees must be residents of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Criteria that will be considered for each category:

 Academic

  • Has achieved considerable success in their subject/field.
  • Outstanding achievement in their chosen subject in comparison to their cohort.
  • Has inspired others or projects a positive role model to his/her peers and community

Sport

  • Has achieved considerable success in their chosen sport within a competitive setting (locally, regionally or international).
  • Made a significant impact in their sport or team.
  • Has potential to achieve further success and be a positive role model

Profession

  • Has achieved considerable success in his/her profession and outstanding achievement has been recognised within the profession and/or its bodies.
  • Made a significant impact within the profession, clients and customers.
  • Has potential to achieve further success and be a positive role model

Community Service

  • Has made significant contribution to the community resulting in better outcome and impact on the community/group as a result.
  • Consistency and commitment to contribute and make improvement on a regular basis.
  • He/she is a positive role model
